The hotel is the leading regional entertainment destination, and thanks to the latest expansion, it can now entertain more guests. What is the point? Needless to say, we took our money elsewhere.Nestled in the heart of northwest Indiana, Blue Chip Casino Hotel provides the perfect weekend getaway full of attractive accommodations, casino fun, and scrumptious dining. More people these days are non smokers than smokers, why do casinos continue to cater to the smokers? Additionally, handicapped parking is farther away than regular parking in the outside lot. There are other much nicer and cleaner casinos, with no smoking policies, less than an hour away, one probably within 20 minutes. Management should be embarrassed to operate the place in such a terrible environment and I feel very sorry for the employees who work there. The no smoking section was at the back, very small and smelled just as bad, since it’s right beside regular gambling areas. It’s obvious cleanliness is not a priority. As we walked thru, looking for a non smoking section, we saw full ashtrays and loose ashes on a lot of machines as well as empty glasses and bottles, with no indication the machines were wiped off on a regular basis. The instant you walk in the door the smell of smoke almost gags you, it only gets worse the further inside you get. We had not been to this casino for several years and we will never visit again unless things change drastically. Won’t be back, I don’t recommend this place at all. Wasn’t happy when I got to my room and saw they gave me half of the dessert for the full $13 price. I only ordered it to go cause my daughter wasn’t allowed in cause she was under 21.

It was supposed to come with ice cream, didn’t get it. Oh, I ordered dessert to go from one of the restaurants downstairs. The beds sank when you sat on them and I am not heavy. I’m was thankful I was only staying one night. View out the window is of the rundown parking lot and parking garage.

The hallway carpet was absolutely disgusting with stains all over and very run down looking. Obviously the side they don’t care about. I got t all that for free a a nicer and cleaner Holiday Inn the night before. I laughed at the front desk staff member that told me that. You’ll pay a $14 “resort fee” for free wifi and SELF serve parking. I guess that goes with a casino environment. Inside it smells awful of cigars and cigarettes. Outside it is rundown and we were approached in the parking lot by a panhandler. I thought this place was average or below average.
